LEV Case Study
The company is a leading manufacturer within the battery technology industry. They wanted to add a layer of protection for the staff by providing extraction in a dedicated area. Inside this area, they work on the batteries, and there is a small chance that a battery could be pierced, exposing the staff to the gases present inside the batteries.
After a site visit with the customer, we discovered that non standard Purex equipment would be suitable and they would need a bespoke system.
This is something we are pleased to be able to offer, as our Business Development Manager for LEV & Service Dave Taylor explains.
Clean Air For Everyone
At Purex we want to provide clean air for everyone, we believe this should be every persons right. With the thorough range of Purex products coupled with the near 40 years experience we have in the extraction and filtration industry. We are ideally positioned to offer our customers the solution they need and fufil our mission to offer clean air for all.
Our Customer
The customer had some requirements for the area which we were happy to accommodate. The system installed consists of a fan, ductwork and canopy for use if there was any leakage detected during the process.
The physical process remains exactly as required, with no physical personnel inside the enclosure when the machinery is operating, the only difference is the whole process is now enclosed within a canopy. This has been fitted with a clear strip curtain at all sides, terminating 200mm above floor level. If a leak is detected the fan is started to draw workshop air into the canopy at a low level, carrying the leaked fume, heavily diluted, out of the canopy to a safe area outside.
The use of a belt driven, Nylon impeller fan unit positioned outside the hazardous area providing the required extraction rate to ensure no fume leakage from the canopy area. The system safely vents to atmosphere via a high velocity vertical stack, providing maximum dispersal into the atmosphere.
Installation And Commission
Purex were even able to install and commission whilst normal works were being undertaken in the workshop.
This is just an example of the types of installation and equipment we can provide to our UK customers. Contact our team for a quote or to discuss your process today.
